Artist Statement:
As a street photographer, I am on a quest to reveal the hidden poetry of everyday life. My name is Daihan Jeong, and through my lens, I seek to freeze moments that flicker in the hustle and bustle of our urban existence. Inspired by the concept of the decisive moment, popularized by the master Henri Cartier-Bresson, my work delves into the fleeting instants that often go unnoticed in the cacophony of modern living.
In the midst of our fast-paced lives, I am drawn to the beauty of the overlooked, the mundane, and the seemingly insignificant. With each click of the shutter, I strive to capture the essence of these moments, immortalizing them in a single frame. Whether it's the interplay of light and shadow on a crowded street corner or the serenity found in the simple act of a passerby lost in thought, my photographs serve as windows into the soul of the city.
Through my images, I invite viewers to pause, to breathe, and to rediscover the magic woven into the fabric of our daily routines. In a world where time seems to slip through our fingers like grains of sand, my photographs offer a reminder that beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. They serve as a testament to the richness of human experience, celebrating the small joys and quiet moments that often pass us by unnoticed.
Ultimately, my goal as a street photographer is not only to document the world around me but also to evoke emotion, spark curiosity, and inspire contemplation. In each frame, I strive to capture not just what is seen, but also what is felt – the fleeting glimpses of beauty that linger long after the moment has passed. Through my work, I hope to encourage others to slow down, to look closer, and to find beauty in the everyday moments that make life truly extraordinary.
